West Pokot Governor Prof. John Lonyangapuo on Monday officiated the opening of an induction course for newly recruited administrative officers.
The three-day induction program will be undertaken by the Kenya School of Government at the Kishaunet showground.
Governor Lonyangapuo pointed out that training was a critical aspect of equipping the new county staff to deliver exemplary service to West Pokot residents.
He ensued upon the administrators to enhance their leadership credibility and prepare to offer effective services.
The induction course will cover terms of service and conditions, code of conduct, values and principles of public service, labor relations, performance management, business etiquette and Public Finance Management(PFM) act.
Other matters to be tackled during the induction program include duties and responsibilities of administrative officers, procurement procedures and safety at workplace.
