Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has erected a Christmas billboard in Kitale town firing up Governor Patrick Khaemba’s succession debate.
The lawmaker who has made public his intentions to contest for the Trans Nzoia Governor’s seat, mounted the billboard that has left tongues wagging this week.
Wamalwa’s billboard bears a Christmas and New Year message.
“Hon. Dr. Chris Wamalwa, MP Kiminini wishes the great people of Trans Nzoia County Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2019,”reads the billboard.
His supporters say the billboard was erected to publicly reach out to the masses with the well wishes during the festive season. However political observers point out that this could be signals of the fireworks Wamalwa’s candidacy will bring in 2022.
The lawmaker has publicly declared that he will be in the race to succeed Governor Khaemba in the cosmopolitan county.
Wamalwa was first elected in 2013 to lead Kiminini, which was hived off from the larger Saboti constituency.
