Chief Officers committed themselves to delivering timely, effective and efficient services to clients of the county government in performance contracts signed today.
This comes barely two weeks after County Executives signed a similar document committing to achieve set targets for the next one year.
At least 12 Chief Officers signed the document in a function graced by County Public Service Board member Lawrence Masaviru, County executives and Public Service sector experts.
The board member noted that the contracts ensure that taxpayers get value for their money and urged the Chief Officers to exert more efforts to enhance service delivery.
Masaviru challenged them to ensure prudent use of public resources given that they where one hat as accounting officers and in other staff management issues as staff heads in their jurisdictions.
The function officiated by Governance and Public Service Executive Clare Wanyama marks the first level downward cascading of the performance contracting as earlier pledged by Governor Patrick Khaemba.
She reiterated that the cascading will further go down to directors, heads of units and staff appraisal to officers of lower cadres.
