Baringo County Women Rep Gladwell Cheruiyot Tungo has called on a section of political leaders from the Kalenjin community not to drag the whole community into personal graft matters.
Speaking during a Radio Show on Sunday evening, the controversial Woman MP said the war on graft should not be politicised.
She said people who steal and loot do not do it on behalf of their communities, but themselves, their families and godfathers.
We cannot drag the entire community into this, the people who steal do it for their own good and that of their masters and families,” the KANU-elected Women Rep said.
The lawmaker said no one should be allowed to tribalise and politicise the ongoing war on graft.
A section of political leaders from the region led by Nandi Senator Kiprotich Cherargei and Aldai MP Cornelly Serem have observed that top Kalenjin professionals in government are being unfairly targeted.
They pointed out that this is all in a grand scheme is to brand the Deputy President William Ruto as corrupt ahead of the 2022 polls.
Apart from KPC’s Joe Sang and his predecessor Charles Tanui, other head of parastatals from the community who have been axed include ; Former Kenya Power chief executives Ken Tarus and Ben Chumo, Former National Cereals and Produce Board head Newton Terer, and ex-Kenyatta National Hospital chief Lily Koros.
