Chief Justice David Maraga and his wife Yucabeth Nyaboke have been airlifted to Nairobi following a road accident this morning.
This follows a directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta to the military to have the CJ airlifted to Nairobi for specialised treatment.
The CJ came out of the War Memorial Hospital with a bandage on his forehead while his wife had a neck support brace.
However Maraga sought to assure Kenyans that they were in a stable condition.
“We had a minor accident this morning as we were going to church here on Ngata road but we have been attended, we are fine. We are fine, there is no cause for alarm at all, we are just going to Nairobi because everybody wants to be sure that we are fine.
“So, there is no cause for alarm, it’s just this is a minor laceration which the doctors have managed here very well so we are going to Nairobi,” he said.
He also said his driver and aide who were with them during the accident are also okay.
