Deputy President Dr William Ruto on Saturday bought 1,000 goats during the Kimalel Goat Auction.
The Deputy President who was the Chief Guest during the annual event paid KSh 10 million in cash.
Speaking during the event, Dr Ruto said he will share the goats with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“My boss Uhuru Kenyatta sent me with KSh4 million to buy 400 goats to give as Christmas gift to members of his security detail,” Ruto said.
The 2,590 goats were sold in a record 15 minutes each going for a fixed price of KSh10,000.
The Deputy President had earlier launched KSh 140 million expansion works at Maoi abattoir.
