A Kenya Forest guard who threatened to shoot Elgeyo Marakwet Governor, Alex Tolgos, has been interdicted.
Confirming the interdiction, KFS regional conservator in charge of Elgeyo Marakwet County, Anthony Musyoka said the officer has been suspended pending investigation into his conduct.
“All public officers are bound by the code of conduct that they must adhere to while on duty. If the suspect was drunk or under influence of any substance that will be established after investigations,” Musyoka said.
He said the officer popularly known as Omwami caused Governor Tolgos unnecessary embarrassment.
The guard threatened to open fire on the Governor if he got into Takwei Primary School in Cheranga/ Chebororwa Ward, claiming it was within a forest station.
The County boss was on a tour of projects in the ward when he ran into the hostile officer.
The officer armed with a loaded G3 rifle, cocked and aimed at the governor before his forest guard colleagues wrestled and disarmed him.
