Baringo County Governor Stanley Kiptis has assured suppliers and contractors in the county that they will be paid in due course.
Speaking when he officiated the Jamhuri Day Celebrations in Kabartonjo, Governor Kiptis said his administration has already kicked off the process of paying suppliers and contractors.
“We started making payments from last week and I want to assure those of you who are yet to receive that you will get your monies,”said Kiptis
He said the county had experienced some challenges with the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS), but that has already been resolved, paving way for release of payments.
The Governor said his government will clear all the pending bills, including those that they inherited, dating back to the 2013/14 financial year.
“As a county government we have resolved that we will pay all suppliers and contractors provided you present proper documentation and the completion certificate for the works undertaken. This include those who delivered their supplies and did their works dating back to 2013/14,”the Governor assured.
The County boss however urged contractors to observe professionalism and ensure they strictly adhere to timelines.
Governor Kiptis further warned contractors against shoddy work. He cited the contractor building the Kabartonjo youth empowerment center, whom he said will be stopped over poor workmanship.
