Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis is expected to lead the county in marking year’s Jamhuri Day in Baringo North.
This follows an announcement by the County Government confirming that this year’s Jamhuri celebrations will be held Moi Primary school grounds in Kabartonjo.
It will be the first time a National event will be marked in Baringo North Sub County since the county began holding National Holidays on rotational basis in the six sub counties.
Baringo residents have been urged to turn out in large numbers for the commemoration of the day.
The event commemorates the establishment of Kenya as a republic in 1964 and will be marked by Kenya police and county askari parades, cultural songs and dances.
Speeches from Governor Kiptis and the County Commissioner Henry Wafula, on behalf of President Uhuru Kenyatta, will also be among the highlights during the celebrations.
