Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett on Tuesday donned the new police uniform.
Through photos shared on Twitter by the National Police Service, the IG took an office pose wearing the new police attire.
This is the first time the Inspector General has donned the new attire.
Kenyans had raised their reservations with the new police uniform colour.
However Boinnett defended the choice of blue colour for new police uniforms saying it is universal and friendly to the public.
According to sources, the police will wear their new uniform during this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations on 12th December.
The National Youth Service was tasked to make the new uniform as part of the government’s efforts to boost cotton farming and the apparel industry.
