Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny has told Deputy President William Ruto to brace for tougher political times.
In a statement to newsrooms, Kutuny said DP Ruto has failed to read the country’s political mood and instead chose to listen to his henchmen.
“When his sycophants shout and clap he believes he has Kenyans behind him yet the ground shifted long ago,”he said.
The lawmaker cited recent remarks by Jubilee Vice chairman David Murathe that DP Ruto should retire with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 and said it should not be ignored.
“Murathe is talking from experience and he has been in the political circles for long, ignore him at your own peril,”Kutuny said.
The lawmaker said the Deputy President has since lost most of his dependable advisers and strategists and instead surrounded himself with sycophants only interested in personal gains.
According to the lawmaker the Deputy President is being given a dose of his medicine for accepting to wind up the United Republican Party(URP) in the merger with The National Alliance(TNA).
“He exposed himself and will go through hard times politically because he likes being surrounded by people who add no value to his ambitions,”he said.
He pointed out that Ruto is no longer respected politically and that is why he is being attacked by even ordinary people.
“Nobody fears or respects him the way it should be and he does not have strong people to defend him,”the Cherangany MP noted, blaming it on poor political strategy.
