Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has said there is only one ‘political bull‘ in Rift Valley.
The Elgeyo Marakwet said the perception that there are two ‘political bulls’ in region was misguided.
This was in reference to the perceived political competition between Deputy President Dr William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi ahead of the 2022 presidential campaign.
“We only have one bull in the Rift Valley yard, not two. The only bull we have is the one who is here today(Ruto), those who are not here are nowhere close,”said Murkomen.
Murkomen also hit out at Senator Moi for snubbing the goat auction in his own backyard.
He said since the revival of the goat auction in 2013, he has been the only Senator who has not missed the annual event.
“I came and found the seat labelled Senator and I sat on it knowing I would be the only Senator present. We know others are seated in hotels discussing the number of goats some of us will buy,”added Murkomen.
The Baringo Senator has consistently skipped the goat auction, in what political observers claim is to avoid political showdown from the Deputy President.
