Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has expressed concerns over the confusion that has rocked the Ministry of Education.
Speaking over the weekend, Wamalwa said the directive to principal to only take in students whose admission letters were issued through the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) should be revoked.
He said the directive has brought confusion to both parents and teachers.
“We ask the government to rescind that decision and give powers to the principals of the respective schools to issue admission letters,”said Wamalwa.
The legislator also faulted the implementation of the new curriculum saying stakeholders were not adequately consulted.
He said there is also confusion in regards to the curriculum and challenged CS Amina Mohamed to ensure the reforms are re-looked at carefully.
“We have a lot of confusion in the education sector, upto now we don’t have a clear picture on whether the new or the old curriculum will be used,”added Wamalwa.
