A Nakuru Court on Monday restricted the media from covering the defilement case against Water CS Simon Chelugui’s aide Kiborek Reuben.
Nakuru Resident Magistrate Eunice Kelly on Monday ruled that the hearings will take place in camera.
The State had on behalf of the family filed an application seeking to bar the media from covering the proceedings.
The prosecution argued that the family has been traumatised and their reputation ruined as a result of both mainstream and social media coverage.
“It is hereby ordered that all proceedings of this case be conducted in camera,”the magistrate ruled.
Kiborek is accused of defiling his boss’s daughter on December 23rd 2018 at a Nakuru Hotel. The case will be mentioned on January 18, 2019.
