Nandi County Leaders have slammed ODM Deputy Party Leader, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho over remarks that he will fight the Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
Speaking during a church function in Nandi, Governor Stephen Sang and Senator Kiprotich Cherargei said the Mombasa Governor should come out clean on the handshake.
“If you support the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, you must also embrace the Deputy President because he is one of the Kenyans and part and parcel of the Jubilee administration,”said Governor Sang.
Governor Sang said it was ironical for Joho to say he supports the hands between President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga and also claim his assignment is to fight DP Ruto.
The County boss said Joho who is under the radar for drug dealing, was looking for someone to blame when investigative agencies come for him.
“We know that you(Joho) want to antagonise Ruto so that when the agencies come for you, you blame it on him,”added Sang.
Senator Cherargei said he had earlier opposed the handshake and it was now clear that he was right.
“Some of us were right when we spoke against the handshake. Now they are saying that Raila told them to embrace the handshake between Uhuru and Raila but fight William Ruto,”said Cherargei.
The Nandi Senator also faulted the building bridges initiative and called for its disbandment.
