Trans Nzoia County is set to launch the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium with a sitting capacity of 20,000 people.
County Executive Member for Sports Aggrey Chemonges said the County Government has committed a total of Sh500 million for the project.
Speaking during a public participation meeting in Kitale the CEC said the construction of the stadium is expected to take at least three years to be completed.
He said the initiative is geared towards reinvigorating the sporting culture and nurturing of talents among locals.
The CEC also revealed plans to construct a high altitude training center in Chepchoina.
He said the construction of the training camp will be done in partnership with Mt. Elgon Trust.
