Trans Nzoia Deputy Governor Dr Stanley Tarus has called on the Kenya National Union of Nurses in the county to embrace dialogue to avert looming strike.
Speaking in Kitale when he inspected the construction of a modern bus park, the Deputy Governor said the county government was open for talks with nurses in bid to solve the stalemate.
“I want to appeal to the nurses, through their union, to come and we will talk,”said Dr Tarus.
Dr Tarus blamed delays in disbursement of funds which he said led to the disagreements between nurses and the county government.
Nurses in the county have issued a strike notice citing poor remuneration and poor working relationship with senior health officials led by the CEC among others.
They have so far demanded for the overhaul of the leadership in the health sector. They want the Health CEC and Chief Officer removed.
The Deputy County Boss also sought to dismiss earlier reports that had been circulated, with the effect that the Health CEC Christine Tanguli and CO Charles Barasa have been moved to other departments.
