Four chief officers appointed by Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok were yesterday sworn into office.
This follows their approval by the county assembly.
The ceremony was presided over by county secretary Peter Eripete.
Those sworn in are Yusuf Abdullahi(Economic Planning), Rosemary Nchinyei(Trade, Gender and Youth Affairs), Pauline Lokuruka(Tourism,Culture and Natural Resources) and Joshua Lojock Lemuya(Agriculture and Land Reclamation).
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Nanok said the new COs are competent and experienced and exuded confidence that they will steer the county’s development.
“I am confident that the four officers are well qualified to contribute to the attainment of the county government’s development priorities,”said Nanok.
The Governor also challenged county officers to be accountable in service delivery and management of public resources.
He said there will be no room for laxity pointing out that renewal of contracts will be strictly based on performance.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by the Senator Ekal Imana, County Women MP Joyce Emanikor, MPs Jeremiah Lomorukai(Loima), Nakara Lodepe(Turkana Central), Epuyo Nanok(Turkana West), Ali Lokiru(Turkana East) and James Lomenen(Turkana South).
