The County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet has threatened to take unspecified action against striking nurses if they do not report to work.
In a circular issued on Monday, the County Health CEC Kiprono Chepkok issued a 24 hour ultimatum to striking nurses.
“Striking nurses are given 24 hours to report to their work stations before contemplated action is taken against them,”said Chepkok.
At the same time the Health Minister recalled all clinical officers and nurses who are on leave.
“This is to notify all clinical officers and nurses who are on leave to resume duty with immediate effect,”he noted.
Elgeyo Marakwet is among counties in which nurses withdrew their services starting yesterday.
