Former Tiaty MP Asman Kamama has been appointed chairperson of the Rift Valley Works Development Agency.
The former vocal legislator was appointed by Water Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui in line with Section 66(1) of the Water Act.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 66 (1) of the Water Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Sanitation appoints—
Asman Kamama—Chairperson to be members of the Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th February, 2019,”read the Gazette notice.
According to a Gazette notice dated Friday, the appointment of Kamama took effect from last week.
His appointment will last for a period of three years.
Kamama was trounced by Kassait Kamket in the August, 2017 general elections.
After his defeat, he announced that he was quiting active politics to join the business world.
He served as the Tiaty Member of Parliament for three consecutive terms between 2002 to 2017.
