Baringo County Women Rep Gladwell Tungo has urged nurses to give dialogue a chance to avert looming industrial action.
Speaking in Kapkiamo, Baringo North over the weekend, the County Woman MP said although nurses have challenges, Kenyans will suffer in the event of a strike.
The Women Rep said nurses can’t afford to take such a hard stance since lives are involved.
“I understand that there are a lot of challenges that nurses go through while executing their daily operations but I want to urge them to create room for talks,”said Tungo.
Nurses have accused county governments of failing to implement their return to work agreement which was signed in 2017.
Their strike is expected to officially start today(Monday) after they vowed to down their tools until their needs are addressed.
24 out of 47 counties will be affected in the strike.
