Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba says he is not thinking of sacking his Health Minister and Chief Officer, over claims that they do not have a medical background, after coming under renewed pressure to do so.
Speaking when he inspected the equipping of Trans Nzoia teaching and referral hospital, Governor Khaemba said he has not received any formal complain to warrant his action.
The County Boss said he won’t bow to pressure from his political detractors.
He said the health sector was initially headed by a medic and there was a big rot which led to his decision to appoint Christine Tanguli and Charles Barasa.
“Until late last year I had a medic heading the department but there was a big rot so I don’t want to hear that nonsense that it must be a medic heading the sector,”said Khaemba.
There has been pressure from different quarters demanding the sacking of the duo.
Nurses in the county want the duo replaced by officers with medical backgrounds.
