Residents in Baringo North Sub County are set to benefit from a maternity wing constructed by the County Government.
Speaking during the commissioning of a maternity wing at Kapturo dispensary in Bartabwa ward, Baringo County Governor Stanley Kiptis said the facility is in line with his vision to eradicate maternal and neonatal mortality.
Governor Kiptis urged mothers to deliver in health facilities so that they can be attended by skilled personnel.
“I urge all mothers to ensure they deliver at a health facility near them so that they are attended to by skilled personnel and that they can be assisted in case of complications,”said Kiptis.
The county boss said the new facility will serve more than 1500 residents who previously had to travel more than 15 kilometres, to Bartabwa Health Centre, to access maternity services.
The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Jacob Chepkwony,Bartabwa MCA Reuben Chepsongol and Health Officials led by CEC Mary Panga.
