Nandi County Assembly resumed sittings on Tuesday and set the bar high, becoming the first assembly in the region to stream live proceedings.
The Assembly has set up a livestream unit that will air live proceedings on Facebook and through the YouTube channel.
The livestream will not only be relayed when the assembly is in session, but also when it is off-session, including committee sittings.
The new media facility will help lay bare what the Members of County Assembly(MCAs) do and boost public participation.
“From this session our sittings will be streaming live, we are opening up our communication, meaning your constituents and voters will be listening and following in real time,”said Speaker Joshua Kiptoo in his communication as the Chair.
He said the objective of live streaming proceedings is to ensure the assembly interacts in a more transparent way with the citizens.
