Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker has blasted the fertiliser deal brokered by former gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop(Buzeki) a scam.
In a indirect attack, the county assembly boss said some people are taking advantage of farmer’s suffering to reap them off.
“Don’t let anyone lie to you that he is giving you a deal of Sh3000, and they are saying the inputs are already in Mombasa,”said Kiplagat.
He said the Export Trading Group(ETG) which inked a deal with farmers led by Buzeki, belongs to an Indian and was among companies that were supposed to import subsidised fertiliser for farmers.
“Let us take care because cartels come in different ways. Some people are in business,”he said.
Speaker Kiplagat said if Buzeki is still eyeing the gubernatorial seat then he should not use farmers to expand his business interests.
His sentiments was supported by Deputy President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet who said no one should use the plight of farmers to advance their personal interests.
