Baringo County Governor Stanley Kiptis on Friday presided over a competitive livestock auctioning at Kampi ya Nyasi in Barwessa ward, Baringo North Sub County.
Speaking during the function, Governor Kiptis said his administration has improved livestock auction yards in bid to provide a platform for farmers to sell their animals.
Governor Kiptis said establishing markets and auctions is aimed at empowering locals.
“Creating market for farm produce and animals sets a foundation for farmers to be empowered and improve their livelihoods and the economy at large,”said Kiptis.
He said the county government is also keen on promoting livestock breeding for improvement and profitability of their products.
The Governor was accompanied by Former Barwessa ward MCA Joseph Makilap, Lands CEC Elijah Kipkoros and other senior county officials.
