Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has drummed support for Turkana based innovation hub ‘Startup Lions‘ to bag the KSh25 million Google Impact Challenge.
Through his social media accounts, Governor Nanok has urged online users to vote for Startup Lions.
Startup Lions is among 12 finalists who were selected for the challenge based on community impact and reach, innovation and technology, scalability and feasibility.
Startup Lions has been training talented and motivated young adults from Turkana county with high value skills in the areas of programming, graphic design and media production.
After gathering hands-on business experience the incubation hub provides them with the necessary funds and tools so that they can launch their own start-up and become economically independent.
The online voting is currently ongoing through the link https://impactchallenge.withgoogle.com/kenya2018

Another eight finalists will be awarded KSh12.5 million each.
The judges include Manu Chandaria, Caroline Mutoko, Ambassodar Tegla Loroupe, Tabitha Karanja, Janet Mawiyoo, Salim Mohammed and Charles Murito.
