Political leaders allied to the Kenya African National Union(KANU) have hit out at the Deputy President Dr William Ruto and his allies.
This follows an onslaught on Kanu party chairman Gideon Moi during the Kimalel goat auction.
Speaking in Chemolingot, Tiaty Constituency Baringo Women Rep Gladwell Tungo and Tiaty MP Kassait Kamket accused the Deputy President and his lieutenants of turning the auction into a political battle field.
“The goat auction is now being used for something else rather than its intended purpose. It is not right for the Deputy President and his allies to use the action to ridicule other leaders,”said Tungo.
The duo said the attacks against Senator Gideon Moi during the auction, was a sign of panic ahead of the 2022 succession politics.
“Senator Moi has not even publicly declared his interests but the attacks shows these people have panicked,”added Tungo.
Kamket said Kanu was well prepared for the political duel and will roll out a major plan in 2019.
“They have panicked and yet we haven’t started campaigns. My Christmas message to them is that we will meet in 2019,”said Kamket.
During the goat auction over the weekend, Ruto allies threw jabs at the Baringo Senator for giving the event a wide berth.
