Uasin Gishu County assembly has adjourned plenary sittings for a period of 68 days.
This is to enable Members of County Assembly(MCAs) break for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
While moving the adjournment motion, the Assembly Leader of Majority Josphat Lowoi lauded the house for the passage of a record 8 bills and 88 motions .
Lowoi also hailed the assembly for clinching the overall title at the inaugural County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) games.
“This Assembly emerged the best out of the 47 county assemblies across the country. And more so we were the most disciplined county assembly during the CASA games,”said Lowoi.
He added the assembly has also also entered history by hosting the first Senate sittings outside the capital city, Nairobi.
The county assembly will resume its sittings on Tuesday, 12th February, 2019.
