Baringo County Women Rep Gladwell Tungo has asked the Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi to facilitate mobile registration for locals in remote areas to get Identification cards.
Speaking in Tiaty Sub County, the county woman MP raised concerns over the huge number of locals in Tiaty who are yet to acquire the important document.
Tungo said over 40 per cent of residents in Tiaty who have attained the age of 18 years should be assisted to get IDs before the roll out of National census this year.
“The ministry of interior should facilitate mobile registration in remote parts to enable locals get this crucial document,”said Tungo.
“When census will be rolled out how will the over 40 per cent residents in Tiaty be identified as Kenyans? They should get their IDs as soon as possible because it is their right,”the legislator added.
