West Pokot Governor Prof John Lonyangapuo has hit out at his political opponents accusing them of inciting the public against his administration.
Governor Lonyangapuo said that negative critics and bitter political losers had plotted a scheme to undermine his administration and sabotage development projects initiated by the county government.
The Governor claimed that the opponents have turned to witch-hunt especially through social media to mislead residents that the administration was not performing.
Speaking in Kapenguria, Lonyangapuo said his critics should keep off and stop interfering with the development of the county. He said he will accommodate positive criticism and challenged his opponents to stop peddling “lies and fabricated stories” to incite residents against his administration.
The County Boss noted that it is a disservice to the electorate that some leaders continue to frustrate development and service delivery and incite residents against county administration.
“The County will not move forward if leaders play cheap politics, I am ready to accommodate positive criticism but not witch hunts,” he said.
He dismissed claims by some leaders that health facilities in the county lacked drugs saying that the county government has procured adequate medical supplies for all health facilities in the county.
Last week the County government procured drugs and other medical supplies worth Sh14 million distributed to the various hospitals and dispensaries across the county.
