Pokot South MP David Pkosing has castigated Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju over his remarks that Deputy President William Ruto won’t be Jubilee party’s automatic pick in 2022 presidential race.
Pkosing has termed the remarks by Tuju ‘irresponsible and unfortunate’.
He said the timing of Tuju’s statement was wrong, coming immediately after the storm raised by Jubilee Vice chairman David Murathe.
“The timing was very wrong and the statement is completely unhelpful,” said Pkosing.
The legislator who was a member of the steering committee that engineered the merger between The National Alliance (TNA) and United Republican Party (URP) ahead of the 2013 General Election said there is unwritten MoU that after President Uhuru Kenyatta the DP will be the party’s flag-bearer.
“The unwritten MoU which is in the hearts and minds of Jubilee supporters states Ruto will be the automatic candidate and that is an indisputable fact,” added Pkosing.
