Trans Nzoia County Nominated MCA Phyllis Njeri Mbugua had to spend the night in remand for failing to raise bond after she was charged for drunk driving charges.
The Nominated MCA was arraigned in court following her arrest on Sunday evening along the Kitale-Eldoret Highway.
Trans Nzoia West Police Boss Jackson Mwonga said the MCA resisted arrest after refusing to take an alcoblow test and abused police officers.
Appearing before Kitale Senior Resident Magistrate Dorcas Wangeci on Monday, Mrs Mbugua denied the charges.
She was allowed a Sh50,000 bond but could not raise the money hence she had to spend the night at the Kitale Farm Prison.
The case will be mentioned on 15th of January 2019.
This is not the first time the nominated MCA has been arrested, she has on several occasions been a state guest for drunk driving.
