Former Turbo MP Elisha Busienei is among poll losers who have been rewarded board appointments in state corporations.
In a Gazette notice dated 8th February, East African Community CS Adan Mohamed appointed Busienei as one of the board members of the Lake Basin Development Authority.
He was appointed alongside six other individuals for a period of three years.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 4 (1) (j) of the Lake Basin Development Authority Act, the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community and Regional Development appoints—
Amimo Roda Mbandu
Philice Emily Okoth
Wilfred Moriasi Ombui
Bhoke Christine Nchamah
Elisha Kipkorir Busienei
Mary Sally Keraa
Franklin Mutai Rono
to be members of the Lake Basin Development Authority, for a period
of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th February, 2019,”reads the Gazette notice no. 1255.
Busienei lost his parliamentary seat after he was beaten in the Jubilee party nominations by Kevin Okwara.
However the parliamentary seat was won by Janet Rotich, who defected and contested the August 2017 elections on an Independent ticket.
