Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos has said Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has been rendered jobless by the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
In a strong worded attack against Senator Murkomen, Tolgos said the Senator had been hired as an attack dog against the ODM Leader but his verbal attacks against Mr Odinga were put to an unexpected stop by the handshake.
“If Raila had won in 2013 nobody would have known that anyone called Murkomen existed. He was busy saying he will block the Former Prime minister from being in government but now he(Raila) is,”said Tolgos.
Governor Tolgos and Murkomen have been on the each others necks in the past one month and the exchange of words has since escalated.
The Governor on Thursday said he introduced Murkomen to politics and frequently took him to meet Former President Daniel Arap Moi and the Late Powerful Cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott, while they were in the university.
“While we were university students I introduced him to politics and even took him to Moi and Biwott and therefore he should respect me,” said Tolgos.
The war of word between the duo started after Murkomen accused Tolgos of having no development record.
On the other hand, Governor Tolgos has hit out at Murkomen accusing him of failing to push for an increase in the allocation of funds to the county.
