Pokot South MP David Pkosing has accused Turkana South MP James Lomenen of using social media to incite locals amid renewed banditry attacks in along the West-Pokot and Turkana border.
Speaking at Kachemogen Secondary school during the donation of a school bus, Pkosing said Lomenen should desist from making inflammatory statements through his Facebook page.
“Turkana South MP James Lomenen should desist from making inflammatory statements through social media,”he said.
He challenged the leaders drawn from the region to come to a round table and shun social media incitement.
The lawmaker said if not checked, the security menace is likely to affect learning in schools along the border.
“We have enjoyed peace for years and I want to urge both members of the Pokot and the Turkana community to coexist peacefully so that we can focus on development,”added Pkosing.
