West Pokot Women Rep Lilian Tomitom has called for the construction of a wall along the Turkana-Pokot border.
Speaking over the weekend, Tomitom said beefing up security by increasing police officers on the ground won’t solve the insecurity menace.
“Our problem is the border and as it is the National Government seems to have been defeated in resolving the dispute,”said Tomitom.
The County Women Rep said erecting a wall along the border would provide a lasting solution to the rampant killings and cattle theft.
Her sentiments comes following the renewed banditry attacks along the common border.
Three people were killed on Sunday when bandits from one of the warring communities attacked their rivals.
The attacks paralysed transport in Kainuk, the border of Turkana and West Pokot county.
