Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny has termed his friendship with Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Wu Peng, as valuable saying their cooperation in fields, particularly education, have proven beneficial for residents in his constituency.
Kutuny expressed these views inaugurating a Computer Laboratory at Benon secondary school that was funded by the Peoples Republic of China.
The lawmaker said the cooperation between him and the Chinese has helped boost education in the region.
He said he was focusing on raising the standard of education and enabling students to face future challenges.
Kutuny thanked the Chinese embassy for setting up the computer laboratory and said it would provide a platform to the students in study and research.
He expressed confidence that the laboratory would encourage the students to explore their potential in the field of technology and urged upon the students to focus their energies on studies.
Ambassador Wu Peng said they would continue their cooperation for providing latest technology and other facilities to the students in the area.
The newly inaugurated laboratory has 45 computer workstations and is equipped with advanced technology for the students.
