Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen now wants World Marathon Record Holder Eliud Kipchoge to be given an opportunity to address the Senate.
According to Murkomen Kipchoge, who became the first human to run a marathon in under two hours, is a man of great inspiration.
“The only person who has addressed this House, other than the joint house address by the President is the Former Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga,” said Murkomen.
He added, “Mr Speaker is it too much for me to request this house that Mr Eliud Kipchoge, having achieved that rare fete should be given the honour by this house and that the senate business committee sit and decide that as soon as possible with the approval of this House he be given the opportunity to come and address this House”.
The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said Kipchoge had run in over eight marathons and won all except one which he came in second.
At the same time the legislator pointed out that there is need to continue improving sporting facilities in the country.
