Trans Nzoia county assembly has rejected Punguza mzigo constitutional amendment bill.
During the Tuesday afternoon session, members of the assembly unanimously voted out the bill.
Out of the 36 members present only two, Jeremiah Wakhulia(Matumbei) and Martin Simiyu(Nabiswa), supported the bill.
Women MCAs stood to oppose the Bill said scraping of nomination slots will not help the country to reduce wage bill.
They said the proposed bill was not good because it wanted to continue frustrating women who have long been left behind in development.
Speaker Joshua Werunga said the vote was a clear indication that the Punguza Mzigo bill was very unpopular in the county.
The Punguza Mizigo initiative has so far been rejected by a number of county assemblies with only Uasin Gishu having endorsed the bill.
