Turkana County Assembly has approved the Punguza Mzigo Bill.
Turkana becomes the second county assembly, after Uasin Gishu County, to endorse the bill sponsored by Thirdway Alliance Party.
The assembly approved the report following the conclusion of a public forum on the Punguza Mzigo bill, held at Lokiriama community hall early Thursday morning.
Justice and Legal Affairs Committee’s chairperson Zainabu Lokaale led the exercise, with majority of the residents showing their support of the bill.
However, the assembly’s approval is inconsequential since the bill has automatically flopped after it failed to be passed in 24 counties as required by the Constitution.
The Ekuru Aukot sponsored bill failed to secure the majority support that would have led to its introduction in Parliament.
