The election of ODM’s Benard Imran Okoth in the Kibra mini poll has been hailed KANU Party Chairman, Senator Gideon Moi.
In a statement, the Baringo Senator said the people of Kibra profoundly spoke.
Senator Moi congratulated Imran for his election and said he will cement the magnificent work of his late brother Ken Okoth.
“The people of Kibra have profoundly spoken; that Imran Bernard Okoth takes the mantle to cement the magnificent work of the late Ken Okoth. Congratulations and may peace, love and unity continue to prevail in our country,”said Moi.
KANU party threw its weight behind Imran in the hotly contested by election.
In the last days of campaigns, the party’s Secretary General Nick Salat was part of the reinforcement team that joined Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Imran was facing off against International Footballer Macdonald Mariga, who was largely seen as Deputy President William Ruto’s political project.
DP Ruto and Senator Moi have for a while been engaged in a battle for supremacy, and that is why KANU opted to support ODM in the mini poll.
