Laikipia University has announced that it will confer Marathon King Eliud Kipchoge with honorary doctorate during its 7th graduation ceremony in December.
Kipchoge will be honoured during the graduation ceremony at the at the Laikipia University Campus on Friday, 6th December 2019.
In a newspaper Advert the Vice Chancellor said the event at the institution’s main campus, is as a result of Kipchoge’s tremendous contribution in the realm of sports.
“The Senate specifically recognises this most recent achievement of becoming the first human in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon. In a remarkable feat of endurance, Eliud delivered his ” moon-landing” moment by crossing the finish line in a mind blowing time of 1:59:40 in Vienna, as he delivered his pledge to prove that No Human is Limited,” said the Vice Chancellor.
He further pointed out that Kipchoge has also been crowned Male Athlete of the Year for two consecutive years-2018 and 2019.
“Laikipia University invites Kenyans and the international community to celebrate with us the outstanding and humble athlete who continues to give his best to inspire humankind,” he added.
Kipchoge will receive a Doctorate In Science[Honoris Causa].
