Turkana County Government has come to the aid of the victims of landslides in West Pokot county.
Governor Josphat Nanok on Friday led a delegation from the county in donating foodstuffs to support the victims.
Turkana County Government donated 216 bags of maize, 43 bags of beans, 46 jerrycans of 20-litre cooking oil, 200 pieces of mosquito nets and 50 cartoons of fresh milk.
Governor Nanok said the donation will supplement relief efforts currently being undertaken by other well-wishers.
“We have decided to come together and support our brothers and sisters during this challenging times,” he said.
West Pokot Governor John expressed gratitude to Turkana County, who he termed as God-sent neighbors, for the donation noting that their relief efforts will go a long way to assist the victims of the tragic event.
“My sincere appreciation to Governor Nanok and the great people of Turkana for standing with us during this time of grief,”he said.
