Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Alex Tolgos are in Kigali, Rwanda to attend the 20th edition of the annual East African Community Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise(MSMEs) trade fair.
The two governors from North Rift region led exhibitors who are set to display their cultural products during the expo being held at the Gikondo expo grounds.
Governor Mandago who spoke during the official opening of the said there was need to strengthen SMEs since they drive the economy. He said both levels of government should provide a conducive environment for them do their businesses.
He pointed out that the direct interaction while doing business between the SMEs in the state partners will greatly enhance the integration.
Exhibitors and other participants from Kenya have been allocated Wednesday as their day to interact and share ideas.
The county bosses had earlier held talks with Charge D’ Affaires David Kabatia at the Kenyan Embassy.
Among the issues discussed include trade between Kenya and Rwanda.
Last year, Uasin Gishu County held the 19th edition of the trade fair dubbed Jua Kali-Nguvu kazi exhibition.
