Kalenjin leaders are set to meet next week to chart a way forward politically ahead of 2022 elections.
This is according to Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.
Governor Mandago who spoke during a fundraising for churches in Nyalilbei, Uasin Gishu county, said the meeting will be attended by all political leaders from community.
“We will be meeting as Kalenjin and Rift Valley leaders next week, anyone who won’t be there is not with us politically,”he said.
The meeting comes just a week after Mt. Kenya leaders met in Embu to explore a common stand on the launched Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) report.
Governor Mandago at the same time dismissed the recently formed outfit led by Former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto and Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny.
He castigated them for going against the community’s stand to support Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s presidential bid.
“Those that met do not represent Rift Valley at all, they can’t speak for the community,”he said.
