Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa now wants the Senate to be made the Upper House.
Speaking over the weekend, Wamalwa said the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) report failed to capture and elevate the status of the Senate.
“You cannot miss to talk about the Senate when it comes matters of devolution. In the BBI report the Senate was not talked about,” he said.
According to the lawmaker the Senate should have veto powers over the National Assembly as is the case in the bicameral system of parliamentary democracies.
“As we speak now we have a lot of sibling rivalry between the Senate and the National Assembly and like many other jurisdictions we are hoping and praying that the Senate should be made the Upper House, “he added.
Wamalwa said when the BBI report goes for fine tuning, that should be among the key proposal to be included.
