Richard Koech was sworn in as the new Baringo County Assembly Clerk on Thursday morning.
Koech replaces Joseph Koech who was impeached by MCAs over graft and abuse office allegations.
Speaking after being sworn in, Koech vowed to ensure transparency and value for money in all the undertakings at the assembly.
He said he will put into practice his financial expertise to manage the assembly’s finances.
Until his appointment, Koech served as the Chief Officer(CO) in charge of Finance in West Pokot County. He had previously held the same post in Baringo County.
The County Assembly Speaker David Kerich said Koech’s assumption of office marks the beginning of a journey towards professionalizing the assembly.
“His assurance that he will give his best as the new CEO Baringo County Assembly in his acceptance speech sits well with our desire as the assembly leadership of a need for a new direction for our assembly,” said Kerich.
