The National Government plans to tarmac Chepararia-Chepnyal road.
In a post on his social media page, Pokot South MP David Pkosing said the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has invited bids from eligible candidates to tender for the upgrade to bitumen of the road.
He pointed out that this is a fulfillment of a promise made by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.
“We thank H.E the President and H.E the Deputy President for honouring their promise to the great people of West Pokot,”said Pkosing who chair the National Assembly Transport Committee.
The road connects Chepareria to Chepnyal and goes through Centre Kwanza-Chepkopegh-Kabombo-Tamugh.
The tarmacking of the road is among projects being implemented by the National Government through the Kenya Rural Roads Authority’s fuel levy fund.
