Tullow Oil Company has handed over Kanamkener Sub County Hospital to Turkana County Government.
Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok and Tullow Oil Managing Director Martin Mbogo on Wednesday presided over the official opening of the facility.
Governor Nanok thanked the company spending Sh161 million to support infrastructural development and equip the facility.

He said his administration has already deployed health personnel and supplied drugs to the facility.
“The County Government has deployed 29 health personnel to the hospital and supplied drugs and other non-pharmaceutical items to benefit residents,”said Nanok.
The County Boss said this was part of his administration’s efforts to take medical services closer to the people.
” This is the eighth Sub County Hospital in Turkana and is part of our investment to provide safe, effective, quality essential health care services to residents in the journey towards Universal Health Coverage,” he added.
Mbogo said Tullow Oil, through its corporate social responsibility, will continue investing in projects to improves lives of people in the county
